Custom Fingerboard Artwork & Print Template Guide

The current Custom Fingerboard editor uses a 38 × 110mm artwork template at 300 DPI. This is the full heat-transfer canvas, including the area outside the deck outline. It is larger than the finished deck and must not be confused with the selected deck size.

Which files can I upload?

Upload PNG, JPEG or WebP images up to 64MB. HEIC/HEIF images are not supported. For phone photos, choose JPEG when sharing or convert the image before uploading. Only upload artwork you own or have permission to use.

What does 300 DPI mean here?

The exported template is approximately 449 × 1299 pixels, corresponding to 38 × 110mm at 300 DPI. Exporting at 300 DPI does not add detail to a blurry or low-resolution source image. Large uploaded photos are fitted to a 2048px editor image, leaving the original file on your device unchanged.

How should I place artwork near the edges?

  1. Choose your deck size and concave first.
  2. Extend backgrounds beyond the deck outline across the full template.
  3. Keep important text and logos inside the safe-area guide.
  4. Review both the full 2D template and the 3D deck. The area outside the deck outline will not appear on the finished deck.
  5. Save the finished version before adding it to the cart.

The deck outline and safe-area lines are editing guides. They are not part of the artwork PNG. Do not assume a precise trimming tolerance from the preview.

PNG export or project download?

Export the full transparent template PNG when you need an image copy. Download the .cfb.json project when you need to edit the design later. Keep both if you want a visual record and an editable backup. The project importer currently accepts project files up to 35MB.

What should I check before ordering?

Screen colour and the 3D preview can differ from printed colour and wood grain. Contact info@customfingerboard.com if you need help preparing artwork.
